Hi there! It's out, finally. Half-Life 1 detailtexturepack v 2.0 Posted Image Download: >>@moddb<< >>@gamebanana<< Since I was stuck with my mod Half-Life: Gold I now decided to release the textures as a texture pack for Half-Life 1 multiplayer. This pack includes an almost blank grey halflife.wad which will be overlayed with beautiful 24bit textures ingame. With this pack the follwing maps can be played with much higher and optimized graphics as far as textures are concerned: ag_crossfire ag_hidden_lab agtricks boot_camp boot bounce crossfire datacore doublecross endcamp frenzy gasworks lambda_bunker lost_village no_remorse rapidcore snark_pit stalkx stalkyard subtransit undertow Of course any other maps can be played with this pack too, but i can't assure that it will look good. To do so, follow these steps: 1.) Go to Half-Life/valve/maps 2.) Copy and rename the file "Any Map.txt" to the map you want to play and add "_detail" to the end of the textfile. (e.g. killbox_detail.txt) 3.) Done If the textures doesn't fit well in this map, you can write your own textfile. Just have a look on the other textfiles I've written and you will understand fast how it works. ---------------------------------- Example given: tnnl_flr4 floor11.0 2.0 tnnl_flr4 is the orginal texture which you can find in the halflife.wad floor1 is the texture you want to use instead. It should be maximal 512 x 512, 24bit and the format must be .tga. The file also needs to be in Half-Life/valve/gfx. 1.0 is the scale on the x-axis. 2.0 is the scale on the y-axis. ---------------------------------- If you manage to make any other custom map look better, feel free to send me the txt file and i will release an update. Bug reports are also welcome! since the new half life update crap it can happen that you see some grey textures. If that is the case, just restart ag or hl and it should work. EDIT: bug fixed Edited by Crowbλr, Aug 28 2013, 11:03 PM.

u can easily switch the textures on your favour. just have a look on the boot_camp_detail.txt and change the texturenames. |

i got same problem, most textures become gray after i extracted files. stalkyard looks fina, most other maps like boot camp is 30% grey |

are you using the correct half-life.wad ? and also are the textures (.tga files) in the correct folders ? it should look like this C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\valve\half-life.wad C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\valve\maps\<mapname>_detail.txt C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\valve\gfx\env\<skybox>.tga C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\valve\gfx\detail\<detailtexture>.tga i had problems in the past when using the valve folder, because it is subject to change when the game is updated ideally you should use valve's new custom folder system: Posted Image in which case, create a new folder called ag_addon and place your files into it, like so: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\ag_addon\half-life.wad C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\ag_addon\maps\<mapname>_detail.txt C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\ag_addon\gfx\env\<skybox>.tga C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\ag_addon\gfx\detail\<detailtexture>.tga Posted Image Edited by glassbeadgame, Aug 30 2013, 02:50 PM.

It seems that you didnt replace the _detail txt files. pls check each folder (ag/maps/, valve/maps/, valve_download/maps, etc.) if there are the same detailtext files. Or just delete all detailtextfiles and install the pack anew. |

There really shouldn't be any complaints with crow's work. The amount of time and effort he has put into it is just simple outstanding. judging from the screenies he needs a god damn medal for these textures. 10/10 what a legend. :yay: |
