I'm not sure if anyone told about that, the client is awesome, but it just need one thing, the mini scoreboard which allows us to see the team scores is missing, i am not sure if there are some console commands to bring it back but imno client needs that.

Here's an experimental build with cl_scores (mini scoreboard): http://openag.pro/latest/experimental/client.dll

The background width is broken, but at least this thing works. Will see if we can get this fixed for the next update. For now you can also use cl_scores_brightness 0 to only display the text.
Oh and, if you don't see it after turning it on, make sure your cl_scores_x and cl_scores_y (element coordinates) are something else than 0.

Well, mainly because stuff is structured in a very different way in AG's sourcecode, so it's not that simple as copypasting AG code into OpenAG code to get stuff to work.
The other reason is that we don't really want to copypaste all the stuff from AG, but rather re-implement it in our own ways. As a result, the code may also be more optimized in some aspects.

Hey, a quick update on some stuff. There wasn't any developement lately due to YaLTeR being busy, but I have one thing that I was considering adding to OpenAG with the next update, and I want to hear your opinion on it whether it should be included or not.

It's about adding an option to enable/disable visual weapon view punch when shooting. Some arena FPS games like QuakeWorld, Quake Live and Reflex already have something like this (if you played it you probably noticed you can have no viewpunch when shooting and Reflex doesn't have any at all). Makes shooting feel really nice and smooth without the viewpunch.

I made a video to show what I'm talking about and how it compares to the default (vanilla) setting.



The recoil is still there, so it doesn't remove it (as you can see the bullets are all over the place when I shoot the MP5 or shotgun), it just makes it so you don't see it.

But yeah, let me know what you think.

edit: Oh and, if you want, come talk in the AG discord, we have a channel dedicated to AG development there so we can discuss it much easier.

atm. iam working on brand new maps with experimental features that i used in HLDM Pro. My maps will be fast as hell without any movement brakes. there will be things like round wall acceleration/slides which is a brand new feature, small ramps everywhere, jumppads, smooth edges on ramps so you dont need to time youre duck for slide, no health/armor charge but maybe 30/50/100 armor. i will keep the overall original HALFLIFE look. Dario Casalis Maps Boot_camp, Crossfire, Stalkyard will be for me the "gold standard".

after i finished my first map i will realase a template with prefabs so people can use my technique to improve the overall AG experience.

crosshair color doesnt work and it seems that the dot or cross isnt centered. can you also put a black border command in?

Put RGB color in brackets and use even values for dot/cross size. Odd values don't work because it's impossible to draw inbetween pixels.

Ah thanks. I will try it. And if its possible, pls try to make put a command for drawing outlines like in cs go.


I will not use the .dll without recoil kick online. its just for testing, because my map will be heavily "movement" based with some crazy stuff in it and i want to know how it feels with smoother movement.

iam using atm. the nghl client at my school for map testing. the movement is much smoother and it has many nice features:

Should be always centered. Once again, make sure you're using sizes like 2, 4, 6, ... because on some GPUs odd sizes (1, 3, 5, ...) don't work properly and result in non-centered crosshairs.

- Added the long requested mini scoreboard (cl_scores). If you have custom cl_scores_pos, you will need to subtract 10 from the first number to position it in the same place as in original AG.
- Added a speedometer, toggled with hud_speedometer.
- Made the GL crosshairs draw even when hud_draw is disabled.

Yes, youre right. witheven numbers it works fine. just put a black border command in and iam happy :D.

iam working atm. hard on my new map. its more like a big sandbox with new ideas. atm. iam searching for a method to use the hev suit model as 60 armor (4x 15 battery). it would be nice to have a modified halflife.fdg in which i can have an armor entity. do you know one or do you need to edit the ag on client and serverside base to make such idea happend?

- Fixed "could not load library client.so" error on certain Linux distributions.
- Fixed HLKZ menu rendering on Linux.
- Added cl_cross_outline.
- Added cl_cross_{top,bottom,left,right}_line (thanks dxtzero).
- Added cl_draw_deathnotices_always for showing death notices even when hud_draw is 0.
- Added hud_speedometer_below_cross for putting the speedometer right below the crosshair.

for few months i still have that lags ive got on summer after that big update. Its made me unplayable. What have i noticed: game is smooth and ok but when i making sharp movement of the mouse i got pure shit lags.
Cant fix it with anything. I tried Adrenaline gamer, OpenAG - the same shit. With different fps_max and Hz also the same shit. I tried with parametres and without one word nothing of that settings didn't help me. Lemme try to explaine which lags it is: the feeling like i have fps drops for a moment but cl_showfps said that fps is stabble. Also RInput didnt help me. Also i tried to change that setttings:
