OpenAG
An open-source client of Adrenaline Gamer.

Featuring:

  • Most of the HUD elements, features found in normal AG dll (as well as realnames, hud_color and so on..)
  • Fixed mouse input
  • Ability to force clientside playermodels on players and teams.
  • Built-in perfect autojump and a _special replacement. (cl_autojump 1)

FAQ
Is this a new mod or something?
No, this is just an updated client library for the classic Adrenaline Gamer everybody loves and enjoys. You can still play on all your favorite servers with it.

How do I know this is not a cheat?
This is built on the clean vanilla Half-Life client library and only adds the features that AG uses. Don't believe me? Go look at the source code.

Will using this get me VAC banned?
No. It doesn't hook anything to the game and a client library is already a part of the mod. This is just an updated version of it.

How do I use the forcemodel feature?
If you want to force a model on a player, just type cl_forcemodel <name> <model> in console.
For example, I want to set the gman model for a guy called lowbob123. I use cl_forcemodel lowbob123 gman. You can also use a player's SteamID or UserID (i.e. #123) for this.
You can then see what models you've forced by using cl_forcemodel_list and then cl_forcemodel_remove to remove model forcing.

Everything works the same way for the teams, except you have to use the command cl_forceteammodel.

Can I use this and have mouse acceleration at the same time?
Yes, the mouse input is the same as the regular Half-Life on Steam. If you want mouse acceleration, use m_rawinput 0, otherwise make sure it's on 1.

What i can say after 15min of test

totaly diffrent mouse work
game is much smoother (jumpoing) any fps optimization ?
little change in hud look , hud_color dosent work

what i want to see in next update :)

forcemodel option / forceteammodel
for example if sb play in zombie model i can write command focemodel "bitch" "red" and i will see not zombie model only red model etc ...

if it possible maybe some filechecker vs cheaters

Hey, thanks for the feedback.

Not absolutely everything from AG is implemented. Some stuff is missing because I haven't got to it yet (and because it was of less importance), some stuff will probably never get added because it's useless and complicated (like the IRC client) (unless people show demand for it, in this case I'll consider it; or unless someone makes and PRs it).

I can add hud_color. Noted the forcemodel / forceteammodel thing.

If someone has a github account, you can add issues directly to the repository (and of course fork / PR and whatnot).

AG is closed-source, as far as I know there is no publicly available AG source code.

If you set m_rawinput to 0 you should be able to play with accel. I don't know for sure though, someone needs to test that.

m_rawinput to 0 this is defferent with accel, its comand on game mouse drivers, at 1 its use system driver

Are you sure that the Accel doesnt get removed when you the launch parameters forcedpwarms... or whatever? It felt to me like there is no Accel then.

Yet i play with acceleration in all Games anyway :)

Yes, I've tried everything :D

As I said, the issue is in all old GoldSrc games from WON times, it seems. My guess is that the mouse code used in them is just obsolete and causes acceleration.

nice work, i will give this a test - i've always had mouse input problems in half-life/ag, rinput1.31 solves it, but it's annoying to have to run the .bat before each launch.

are you able to fix the zoomed crossbow sensitivity problem ? i know it was fixed in another hl mod, if i rememeber correctly the fix was to change the zoom sensitivity from an integer to a float (something like this).

also the forcemodel cvars would be excellent, forceenemymodel and forceteammodel.

are you able to add autohop as a feature too ? this way we wouldn't need to use an older build.

Yeah, autojump is one of the things I had an idea to add, but would like to discuss here first. I think it should be added because everyone is using a bhop script anyway.

What's the zoomed crossbow sensitivity problem?

Ah yes rammy, I remember that crossbow zoom bug.

It's fixed in this dll, as well as all the other mouse bugs.

I'm not sure why, but RInput never fixed the mouse accel for me (it did, however, fix the skipping mouse bug) in AG. But yeah, both of these are fixed in the dll, so I think RInput isn't really required anymore, but I use it anyway just to be sure :D

Real problem its when you fast atack in zoom mod, and you can drop 6 from 5 arrows.

i think you should talk with Lev and Kord from "aghl.ru" community they create a great Bugfixed for game /server client (HLDM). For 100% they can help you a lot in work on this project !

Was busy with exams over the last few days (and will be for a couple more days).

Today's update includes:
- cl_forceteammodel
- hud_saytext_sound (to toggle the chat sound, defaults to no sound)
- SteamID in the scoreboard.

EDIT: if there are any performance drops, maybe in future updates, make sure to report it.

Not yet, as well as some other features like IRCBot (this one probably won't be added cos no one uses it). Keep in mind that we don't have AG's source code so we have to make everything from scratch. The first releases contained only the most important features (voting, timer and stuff), but the goal is to expand it on each update if people need it.
